Is There A Berkey Water Filter Scam?
I think it's so funny there are lots of people out there looking for a Berkey water filter scam.
There are some legitimate people researching the product to make sure it really works as advertised.
I have no problem with that at all. I want people to do their own research.
What I do have an issue with are people wanting for there to be a scam so they can say, "I told you so!"
There are also competitors who want potential customers to buy their products and nobody else's. So is there a scam or not?
Finding A Berkey Water Filter Scam
Now that I got the introduction out of the way, let's be real honest with each other.
There are a ton of scams out there and it's quite annoying. Either the product isn't nearly as good as advertised or it flat out doesn't work.
I personally scour reviews online for just about every single product I buy.
Many times I end up not buying the product because of something a reviewer said or the sheer number of bad reviews despite miracle cure type claims.
When I was searching for a water filter, I had already been scammed by the cheap water filter companies.
I'm sure you can guess who they are. They promised healthy and clean water only to find out they hardly filtered anything and the actual amount they filtered was astonishing.
I listened to particular radio shows and heard Berkey advertising constantly. Radio show host after host endorsed them so I started researching.
I immediately looked for words like scam and fake. Usually after researching for a while you come to a series of comments, reviews or forum posts talking about how something doesn't really work.
Guess what?
I couldn't readily find a Berkey water filter scam and it was sort of disappointing.
I don't know what it was, but it was like I wanted to find a scam.
I really can't explain it but I'm sure you've experienced the same thing before.
Why There Isn't An Issue
With things like appliances and health products, I always go straight to the research, white papers and lab work.
You see, if things are legitimately tested then you can have confidence their claims are true.
In regards to the Black Berkey filters which are in each system I read this: "The Black Berkey® filtration element formulation has been tested by State & EPA accredited laboratories to exceed EPA & ANSI/NSF (Std. 53) protocol.
Tested by the University of Arizona, Spectrum Labs, the Department of Toxicology and Environmental Science, Louisiana State University."
This meant to me that everything they said they filtered, reduced or eliminated was verified by special laboratories.
That gets immediate credibility with me. They go through the trouble of testing it while our city water companies do nothing of the sort.
Instead, they dump fluoride and chlorine in the water and hope for the best.
As far as I'm concerned, there is no Berkey water filter scam and although I was bummed about that in the beginning I'm very happy about it now.
